The Return of The Blacklist after the Super Bowl

** SPOILERS **

Season 2 will resume post-Super Bowl on February 1 with part one of a two-part episode.

Executive producer Jon Bokenkamp says the return episode "takes place on a much larger canvas and is a bit more cinematic. It will have some really great answers about Liz's past and her connection to Red. Following February's two-night event, the show will spend significant time on Harold Cooper's grim diagnosis, which Red alluded to in the Season 2 premiere. What it means for him, what it means for his family and what it means for his relationship with Red and the task force will all be featured in the back half of the season." TV Line.com. Episode details follow.

Part 1:   "Luther Braxton"  (2.09)

"When Red is arrested and held at a secret detention facility, Liz and the task force set out to save him before he disappears forever.
Ron Perlman will appear as Luther Braxton, a meticulous thief who plans his international heists over the course of several months or years. The ruthless baddie creates great diversions and chaos to get what he wants — that is, until he faces off with Red Reddington.  Perlman is known for his work on Beauty and the Beast and Sons of Anarchy.

Also guest starring are
David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck; Lincoln) and Janel Moloney (West Wing). Strathairn has been cast in the recurring role of The Director, the high-powered and secretive leader of the US National Clandestine Service. His true identity is known only by those at the highest levels of the Agency. Moloney will play Kat Goodson, the self-confident and cold liaison to the Director of NCS. Kat will visit the team at the Post Office to obtain more information about their deal with Reddington.

Part 2:   "Luther Braxton Conclusion"  (2.10)
Thursday February 5, 9 pm (The Blacklist's new time slot)

As chaos ensues at the Factory leaving the fate of Red and the task force unknown, FBI boss Cooper struggles to rescue his team from the detention facility. Meanwhile, it’s a race against time to stop Luther Braxton from attaining confidential information.

Gloria Reuben (ER) guest stars as Dr. Selma Orchard, an expert at retrieving subconscious memories, whose services are “requested” by Braxton.

IMDB doesn't usually list much information before an episode airs, but I did find this little tidbit. It is the name of a character, with a ? , indicating that it isn't a sure thing. But wouldn't it be interesting if it was?

Tensei / Aiko Tanida?
