Frequently Asked Questions / Help

The Blacklist Support Group (BSG) website is monitored by a dynamite team of moderators who help ensure that our site provides the best possible experience for friendly, respectful, intelligent and fun interaction for everyone. Please take a few minutes to read through the questions and answers below.

Be Nice, Be Respectful.
This is the principle upon which the Blacklist Support Group was founded, and which sets us apart.

Do I need a Google account?
Although you may be asked if you have a Google account or email, it is not required.

How do I leave a comment with my user name?
Click on the comments at the bottom of the comments. Choose Name/URL and enter your screen name, or sign into your gmail/Google account if you have one. URL is not required. Comments will appear in a separate window. If you click on Jump To Comment, it will take you to the bottom of the list of comments.

Can I post anonymously?
No. Anonymity is not permitted. You must have a user name, but it does not need to be your real name. Consistently using the same user name contributes to the formation of a community, and allows others to follow your comments. Anonymity erodes a strong community and invites trolls. Internet trolls (people who make very controversial or inappropriate comments to incite an argument or reaction) do so by hiding behind anonymity. If you accidentally post something anonymous, just make another post letting us know it was you and we'll keep it up.Please consistently use the same user name for all of your comments. Anonymous comments will be deleted unless the user lets us know within a reasonable amount of time.

Are my comments monitored for content?
We encourage free expression, regardless of viewpoint, but require that such expressions be respectful of other commenters and to the personnel involved with the production of the program, and relevant to the topics on which they are posted. We do, however, reserve the right to remove any comment for any reason.

In particular, you may not submit a comment that is abusive, defamatory, disrespectful, illegal, offensive or disparaging (whether on the basis of disability, ethnicity, gender, nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation, traits with which people are born, politics, or otherwise) to any other commenter or actor/producer/writer/personnel involved with show.

You also may not submit a comment that attacks or threatens another person, threatens or promotes violence, wishes for harm to befall another person, invades another person's privacy or proprietary rights, or uses expletives (including veiled profanity).

You may not stalk or harass another person, dominate the conversation, discourage participation by others, or mock, bait, bicker, taunt, or belittle others.

We do not allow shipping on the Blacklist Support Group. Shipping is a term (derived from relationship) created by the fandom to express the desire for characters to form a romantic relationship. It is a component of fan fiction, which is not a part of our site. In particular, the idea that there is a romantic relationship between Liz and Red is a dead theory. It has been well established, repeatedly, that Red is a father figure, or possibly father, to Liz. Therefore, to suggest that there is a romantic relationship between them hints at incest and is completely unacceptable at BSG.  There are numerous other internet sites that allow and/or are dedicated to shipping and fan fiction.

Our Spoiler Policy Has Changed   4/21/2016
We are no longer using spoiler tags/alerts/warnings, and are now allowing spoiler conversation on any page of the forum.  The current (Ye Olde Blacklist Spoiler Page) has been archived, meaning it is still available to read, but it will be closed to further comments.  A new spoiler page (Le Nouveau Blacklist Spoiler Page) has been created to serve, first and foremost, as a reference. The top of the page will always contain the most current vital statistics on upcoming episodes:  date, episode name and number, synopsis, preview/spoiler photos and videos, and/or links to photos and videos. BSG members can add their own links in comments or discuss spoilers there, on the episode discussion pages, or any other page.

We feel that the vast majority of our members are reading the spoilers anyway, so avoiding them is no longer a priority.  At this point, it feels as though the spoiler page has become a hindrance to discussion as we have to jump back and forth among multiple topic pages. The result is repeated comments, broken continuity, and a greater number of comments to be read. We apologize if this disappoints any of our members/readers, but we feel this new policy best serves our community.

I think one of my comments was deleted, what do I do?
Most likely, your comment was deleted in error or it was posted anonymously. There are very few reasons a post would be deleted intentionally. Read above at  Are my comments monitored for content?  If you believe one of your posts was incorrectly deleted, please post a message below.

For a tutorial on how to put bold print or italics into your comments and insert hyperlinks, click here.

How do I get an avatar/profile picture?
To create an avatar, you must be signed in with a Google account/email. Once you are signed in, go to Blogger and open up your Blogger profile.  That's where you upload a photo or image which will appear when you post your comments here at the Blacklist Support Group.

What if I have other questions about how things work here?
The comment section below this post allows for you to ask questions regarding the how-tos of this site. How do I leave a comment? Where does my comment belong? How do links work? That kind of thing.  The Blacklist Support Group has three administrators who will be alert to questions that arise on this page.

Re: caps
I use caps to emphasize specific words, too, but to do so more than just here and there is considered to be bad internet etiquette. An entire post would be unacceptable.

Basil said...

Hi Chomps...Hi Fluffy.....thanks again for this wonderful place. I was wondering there any SIMPLE way to indicate when there is a new post to a thread? Whenever I log on, I end up opening each thread to find new posts. Having to open and read the whole thread and then find out there's nothing new can be frustrating and I fear may discourage posters.

I know how hard you've worked on this site (and I so appreciate that), so please please please...I don't want to create more work....not a big deal really if it can't be done....but I thought I would ask.

ziji said...

Hey basil....excellent question. I don't have an answer but the question is excellent. :)

And chomps, I have another I have to select profile everytime and select name, type in ziji or is there a way for me to have it auto filled when I come in the front door at home and yell "hello" everyone automatically knows it's me :)

Chompstick said...

Hi ziji,
If you stay signed into your Google account, your name should already be there waiting for you next to Comment As: Can anyone confirm this? Everything appears differently for me. Basil might be a good one to answer.

Speaking of Basil...I'm still working on your question.

ziji, you sound like Norm from Cheers, by the way.

ziji said...

I always like norm...

Basil said... do sound like Norm, Ziji! I liked Norm too

Second....yes, when I sign on here the Comment as: box always shows Basil (Google)

Third...thanks for the update on my question.....hope it isn't a lot of work...but truth to be told...I'm kind of excited to see what you do Chieftan'll be cool!

Basil said...

Recent Topics!! thank you!

Chompstick said...

Rori - html tags should work. Did you say it worked for you? Maybe it didn't show up on my tablet. I'm going to try italics. If you use tags, be prepared to show everyone how to do it because they'll be jealous. (Show them on this page.) And we would prefer that comments weren't made using the "reply" option but with the comment box at the bottom. ((Ahem)) Read FAQ above (said in a gentle tone).

Chompstick said...

Rori - can you see my italics? It doesn't show up for me. I'm going to try bold. Let me know if you can see it.

ziji said...

I can't see your italics. But I can see your bold.

Basil, I'm jealous! Your name always shows up basil?? I need to see how to do that!

Wouldn't it funny though if it suddenly showed up sage or thyme.

ziji said...

Chomps....hi again. :)

Is there a way to "go to the most recent post"? Right now, in our infancy of just a few days, it's easy to scroll down. But as we grow, it'll be more cumbersome.

Margaret said...

This is a great site you have set up! I am looking forward to participating in the Blacklist discussion. Can't wait for the next episode :)

Chompstick said...

Glad to have you here, Margaret. If you haven't yet done so, take a moment to introduce yourself on the home page. I know you've been active a while, but we're trying to get all members, new and old, to say hi. Thanks.

BarbJ said...

It is so nice to see that this blog was restarted.
I hope to post more in the future.

Rori said...

CS, minor typo found on FAQ page:
"Do I comment be hitting..." (change "be" to "by" :-) )

I see both your italics and your bold.

ANYONE who might want to use those tags we are all referencing, look just below where you are typing and you will see samples of the tags for bold, italic and hyperlink.
If you want a word or phrase to show up in italics for example, just before the word, type: caret i caret (the actual symbols, not the words. I am using the words here so the system does not italicize). Then, no space, type whatever you want italicized. At the end of that word or string of words, type: caret /i caret. The backslash connotes the end of the command.
These nifty little commands will give you vastly expanded power over your posts (okay...or just help you make your point with vim & vigor).

Margaret and BarbJ,

I'm so glad to see you both here!! We're having so much fun being able to use different topic pages. See you here tonight/tomorrow for the show!

If you have any questions about the site and how things work, this is the place to ask. Enjoy!

Chompstick said...

Rori, thanks for pointing out the typo.

I am counting the hours until the show comes on tonight! Do I need to fill out a profile? I wasn't quite sure how to introduce myself on the home page

Chompstick said...

No profile needed, just introduce yourself, maybe tell us where you're from (in general), or whatever you're comfortable with. Everyone should be introducing themselves cough*oldtimers*cough so that new users can get to know us too!

Chompstick said...

Basil, I'm looking for a plug-in that will list recent comments but what I find are ones that list the last 5 comments made but don't even say where they were made.

One of the problems is that BSG is much more complicated in it's structure than a regular blog with one page with a post and comments, then another post and comments (think WSJ). We did some things that aren't normally done so that it can meet our needs for multi topics.

We'll get there. I'm looking into lots of things. Keep the suggestions coming. Use the admin site, that's what it's for.

Basil said...

No worries, Chomps....appreciate all you're doing...

Just to say it again...I love what you have created here and a big pat on Fluffy's furry head for all his help as well.

It does really feel like a place to me here...with rooms where we can meet in small groups to discuss the individual topics with episode discussions in the main ballroom.

And, as you know, I am especially fond of the hallways.

Chompstick said...

While Fluffy's away, the baby bunnies shall play....Mwah ha ha

Pssst ziji, I just heard Fluffy earlier in the corridor. He was loudly complaining about scuffs and wheelie marks. Were we really bowling in skates? Never mind. He will never catch you, Basil or me. He hops. We rock and roll!

LLove said...

Why was one of my comments removed on the Episode 22 post?

ziji said...

Hi Llove

That's an excellent question.

I don't have an answer, but I will find out for you. I saw your posts myself and I found them insightful so I honestly think it was in error.

thank you for asking. Please leave this with us and we will get you an answer.

P.S. keep posting! I like reading your thoughts!

Chompstick said...

I am truly sorry if one of your posts was deleted. I am the only one who can delete, so I must have done it without being aware of what I was doing.

There are very few reasons a post would be deleted:

- If it was posted anonymously; the reason for this is because internet trolls (people who make very controversial or inappropriate comments to incite an argument or reaction) do this by hiding behind anonymity. If you accidentally post something anonymous, just make another post letting us know it was you and we'll keep it up.

- A comment that is not "family friendly", including profanity, sexual references, etc.

- Comments that attack or disrespect other members of BSG.

We pride ourselves on being a kind and respectful group. We have a team of moderators scanning comments throughout the day so that if a problem arises, it can dealt with quickly. Unfortunately, many blogs and discussion forums are not moderated and negativity, disrespect, rudeness, and sometimes just bizarre posts arise.

Again, I'm very sorry about your post and the inconvenience. I hope you'll repost it.

LLove said...

Thanks Chomp! I'm pretty sure I didn't violate any of the rules so it must have been an error. I'm going to try to remember what I posted and repost :).

I'm walking and typing on my iPhone so please ignore any typos. I just wanted to assure you that your post did not vioalate anything. As we are getting this new site operational, it's actually great to have posters like you! Can we clone you :).

Again, thank you for asking your question. Please know that you will respond to any and all feedback and questions

Charmed said...

LLove- Chompstick was probably aiming for one of my comments. I don't remember what your comment was, but I read it before I posted.

Leave my new friend alone, ziji. No, we can't clone her, yet. There are still a few bugs left in the process.
Don't worry Lauren, I sent her away...

Chompstick said...

LLove, what ziji said. I should have mentioned, as well, that you absolutely did not violate any rules. We are fortunate so far that we have had no problems.

Chompstick said...

Psst, Charmed, her name is Dave not Lauren...;p

ziji said...

Chomps, charmed!

You are both off your rocker today! Did you forget to eat your wheeties or whatever it is you eat in the united states of American.

Llove, you and I might be the only normal ones left in this conversation. :)

And who the heck is Dave or Lauren?

Llove asked a simple question....and gets all of US responding!

Well, at least we are here to serve!

ziji said...

Ooohhhh......seriously! I think I figured thks out!!!

Geeze, I AM brilliant!

Chomps, I think you were probably going to move my orange comment to other topics for discussion. I knew that last night when I went on and on about the colour orange. I've always been a little partial to orange. But that's just because most of the other people who Toomey that personality test with me were green or blue - I was the only orange.

Anyway, I went on a rave welcoming orange - the poster -.... you probably meant to move my comment and inadvertently removed Llove s instead.

Of course, now I'm really risking being lumped in with both charmed and chomps, leaving Llove to be the only normal one tonight.

But what is normal really?

Oh oh...I've digressed again.

Charmed said...

ziji, maybe we should call the Off Topic page the Page of Digression!

Yes this is the page to ask questions on regarding how to post and use BSG.

Gmail is great with a Google. I didn't like Google+ for me!

Naike said...

This is a very nice website with simple HTML tutorials I would recommend to everyone.

The use of HTML tags is quite limited on this website, yet you can use some formatting and create HTML links.

Naike said...

Chomps, do you know? Are characters per post limited to 4'096 digits set by default (so for every user) or only for users who don't own a Google-account?

Thank you very much in advance!

Chompstick said...

I didn't know there was a character limit. I just looked through the html to see if I can change it but I can't find it yet.

I would be surprised if the limit only applied to non-Google account holders. The only differences I've seen for Google members are:
- Once you are signed in you don't need to enter your name each time you make a comment.
- You can create an avatar.
- You can create a profile about yourself and include contact info if you wish. If you prefer privacy, none of your information (name, email) can by seen by anyone.

Naike said...

Chomps, thank you so much!
Yes, at least when I post a comment, there is a character limit per post. It's the reason why I normally have to split my comments. Sometimes it almost gets confusing, like in my Ressler appreciation thread, for example. I have no idea if "Blogger" would allow to change these settings. Would probably make for a more fluid reading for the readers, if there wouldn't be a character limit set.

Two additional questions, if you wouldn't mind:

1. Once posted, I cannot go back and edit my own comments, is that right?

2. I cannot upload (image) files to the blog, correct? Sometimes I would like to point out such tiny details that not even Screencapped or crime.grande-caps would provide a still to it. I have tons of my own screen caps on my computer, but until now I couldn't use them in my articles, as I have, for obvious reasons, not the (administrator) rights to this site. Is there a possibility for "ordinary" posters to upload files to this site?

Chompstick said...

Unfortunately, these are some of the limitations of Blogger, which is really designed to be more of a straight blog, not a discussion forum like we're creating. I, of course, didn't realize much of this until well into the process. WordPress and others have different limitations. Other than that I would have to look into actual forum software, but then we're talking $$, and importantly to me, we'd lose much of the intimate nature of this site.

1. You cannot go back to edit, nor can I which is ridiculous. There are several moderators and I who can delete posts, so if there's ever any thing you really screw up and want to start over, just let me know. I monitor comments all day (except in the middle of the night EST when you're posting. What country are you in now?)

2. You, nor I, cannot upload photos to comments, which is standard for most blogs and forums. It could be hard to control the content of inappropriate photos, which would be intolerable for even one second. Because we don't require "membership" it's even easier to get trolled that way. It's very rare to find a forum where you're not required to create an account (just set up a new throwaway Gmail, and create a password). I would really like to do that so we could avoid the type of problem WSJ had with volatile and strange users. In the past there was objection to maybe having to create an account for WSJ, but that was different because it requires a Facebook account. We'll see as it gets busier in the fall. I might have to change the policy. The main objector hasn't moved over here anyway.

3. I did find that the character limit was imposed on me as well this week. I'm still trying to figure out if I can rewrite the html for that.

Naike said...

Chomps, thank you so so very much for the very interesting and useful information about the functionality (the range of operations that can be run on) of Blogger. You know how much I like to learn about processes, so your reply is really, really appreciated!

(I am currently zig-zag'ing between Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy).

Charmed said...

Naike- you planned a fantastic vacation and I am very happy for you. You could probably meet Blacklist fans from every country and send them to BSG for us to meet.
What a discussion we could have then...

Chompstick said...

Welcome Evey Edge! I'm glad you found our site. Have you been a Blacklist fan all season?

No problem on missing the FAQ page. No one thinks to go there first. If you'd like, you can introduce yourself on the home page, in the comments on the fourth post down (Welcome Blacklist Fans).

Naike said...

Charmed, I agree completely with you, that would make for an excellent itinerary for a fantastic vacation. I'm currently on the move so frequently for work, though. Had my last vacation in July 2005 (yes, I'm going to openly admit it, I'm a workaholic). Two weeks to the enchanted island of Ireland. Wonderful place, would go back in a heartbeat.

But even when traveling for work now, wherever I go, I will ask my new work buddies if they are watching The Blacklist and obviously the first thing I'm going to tell them is about the one and only BSG website!

Naike said...

Chomps, unfortunately today only just 30 seconds not to Mars but to drop by, so only one quick post (Yes, I can do that, too ;o).

I still cannot see the "Spoilers" page. I would have other casting news (which, at this moment, are not posted anywhere else on the internet). But I don't want to post them on another page, so those who want to stay clear of spoilers can do so. But for those who would like to read them, obviously the value of a spoiler is only as good as its degree of novelty.
Today's news tomorrow will be old news, right? :o)

Thank you so much in advance!

Naike said...

Chomps, I noticed it's been a couple of days can't be accessed from Europe anymore. How about you, can you?

I get an error message (the "HTML 404 Not Found" default error message) telling me that my server cannot find the requested page. I get this message even when trying to access the main page,

I tried a couple of alternatives:
- — same 404 error message
- — leads me to a landing page for the following web hosting service:
- — same 404 error message
- — landing page of Site5 Web Hosting.

That's actually kind of messy with regard to my posts, because every time I have directly linked to a screenshot from, all those links are broken now, obviously.

You would think should be happy about all those backlinks to their site I have included in my posts (and yes, Chomps, keyword backlinks, SEO is on my list of messages I want to work on in the next weeks, so your request has been well noticed by me!).

I hope they are not re-organizing/re-launching their website. At least, not without a "backup-plan", in that if they would change the URLs of their screenshots, they should at least provide "re-direct links", if not every other website that would have linked back to their website would now carry broken links. And that's just not pretty at all!

By the way, the fact that the "HTML 404 Not Found" error message at is provided by's own Apache Server could indicate that their server is, at least, still connected to the internet and online and working.

Chompstick said...

Hi Naike, I hope you and your family are coping well with the flood. My apologies for not responding sooner, I've been visiting family out of state and haven't been online much. is not working here either but I'm getting a "Forbidden" error message:

"You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." Maybe they were shut down over a copyright issue?

It's very unfortunate that you lost all your recent screencap links after you did SO MUCH WORK! I'm really sorry; I think we all really appreciate all the work you put into your posts. Fortunately is still available.

Chompstick said...

I have been asked how to create a profile picture/avatar to appear next to your name when you comment (like mine of baby Hudson the first with his beagle friend). Another convenience about having a google account is that you never need to enter your name for commenting, it appears automatically.

First, you need to have a google account (you do not need it upgraded it google+). To create a google account, go to their sign up page. You will need your name, a current email address, birthday to confirm you are over 18, and your gender (I make up the last 2, you can even enter "Other" for gender). Phone number is not required.

I don't remember if you are prompted to set up your profile when you create your account. If so, you can upload a picture and leave everything else blank or provide info about yourself. Your choice - you can retain complete privacy if you want.

If you have have already created an account and want to add a picture:

1. Click on your username where it appears red in your comments.
2. That should bring you to a page that says Profile Not Available.
3. On that page, click on Enable Access to Your Profile.
4. You will be brought to the Edit User Profile page.
5. Scroll down to Profile Photo and upload.

Basil, what happened to your nice basil sprig?

Basil said...

Not sure what happened to the avatar, Chomps. It is still in my profile but doesn't show up.

That's ok. No worries. I like being a person of mystery. Liz and I with our locked!!!!!!!!!

But thanks for asking.

Lisa Dale Jones said...

Does anyone know if comments we post on this site are searchable on Google? My Google account is my real name; I didn't want to have to create yet another Google account just for this. However, if someone is searching for me online for work reasons, I'd rather not have my postings here show up in their search results! Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks...

Chompstick said...

Hi Lisa,
If I Google Chompstick, many hits come up, 99% of which are not me. There is one BSG related listing, several pages in. Now, if I search for Chompstick Blacklist, everything is BSG.

Google yourself to see what you can find. If like me you don't specify Blacklist, it probably won't appear. If it is a work concern, I would recommend creating a new Google account since it's so easy. You should be able to remain signed into 2 or more accounts simultaneously.

Laocoon said...

Lisa - you could search for yourself on Google or set up a Google Alert for your name (this is a good thing to do regardless so you know what's out there). I do that, since I have a professional/personal identity in real life that I try to keep separate so I can have fun here. When I comment here, I click the "Name/URL" button below and just type in my screen name Laocoon (URL is optional). I don't know how Google Account works, it might be necessary to log out first if you don't see that option.

Lisa Dale Jones said...

Thanks - I just googled myself and didn't see anything from here. :-)

Redravenous said...

Chomps - don't think your page for the new episode is up, that we can find.

Laocoon said...

Chomps - the commenting function seems to be working better. My last comment went out from my phone, which I couldn't do before. Good job!! Hope you are feeling better.

Chompstick said...

Glad to hear it, Raccoon (intentional this time). Thanks for reporting in.

Chompstick said...

I really need someone to text me every Monday night to tell me to put the new page on the topic list. I sometimes create the page days in advance and hold it in drafts, then I forget to post it! Argh!!

Harry said...

Chompstick: The not-a-robot feature is getting difficult again (ie one squiggly nonsense word + one real word) instead of three or four numbers on a mailbox or awning.
Do you know why that is? The numbers are fairly legible and easy to type in, but the squiggly nonsense words are often impossible to decipher.
I wouldn't mention it, except that I fear it's going to dissuade people from posting comments.

Chompstick said...

Harry, I need people to tell me about this, so thank you. I am EXTREMELY worried about it turning people away from commenting. Like, up all night for a week panicking type of worry. Have you tried refreshing the image until you get an easier image? Or, have you tried the audio cue? Let me know if either of those helps.

Harry said...

Chompstick: Yes, I refresh the image until I can (barely) decipher the squiggly nonsense word. I don't know when and why it switches to the much easier four-digit number format.
At the risk of being redundant, I am concerned that obstacles and inconveniences to posting that waste time and make people worry that their comments will vanish into Alphabet Heaven, will diminish the number of contributors.
That's why I was curious if there's a way for the not-a-robot to use four digits all the time, instead of illegible nonsense words.
PS I had to refresh four or five times until I got a legible nonsense word for this post.

Basil said...

I've been experiencing similar stuff....tried refreshing and it gives another similar squiggly word plus normal word. What I do is just keep trying until I successfully get the right letters in.

It is important to check each time to be sure that your comment is indeed published....if not, scroll down and it will say you didn't copy it right....and you can try with a new word duo.

It is a little annoying, but not unmanageable.

Basil said...

Just tried the audio.....dear God...sounds like something out of Night of the Living Dead! Can barely make out the letters/numbers///lots or echo and reverb.....

Harry said...

Chompstick: Please don't fret about this. I am more concerned that long-time readers/first-time posters may not be familiar with the refresh option. I can't speak for everyone, but I believe most of us who take the time to read and respond to comments -- and enjoy your excellent* recaps and appreciate your dedication -- don't really mind taking another thirty seconds to fiddle with the anti-robot feature.

* Recaps I've seen on other sites, including those from widely circulated magazines, often get names and significant facts all wrong.

Harry said...

Re: #66 (Basil) -- My hearing is not as great as it used to be, so I have not tried the audio anti-robot, and from what Basil reports, I wouldn't want to.
It would be nice if the anti-robot block contained an express designation of the refresh option, if there's no way to make it portray numerical digits all the time.

Harry said...

Chompstick: I take it there's no way to get rid of the Not-a-Robot verification? It used to be so easy to post comments....

Chompstick said...

Unfortunately, I have not found a universal solution. The guy at Blogger recommends enabling your computer's cookies, but I know you already read that blog post on commenting problems.

You haven't been here much this week so I suspected your problems were increasing. I'm sorry!!! I have probably mentioned that I think I'm going to have to implement a completely new commenting system but I wanted to wait until the hiatus. That way if it implodes, I have 2.5 months to try to fix it. *Sigh*

Harry said...

Chompstick: I had a bunch of posts after the last episode, including, I think, a few more quip excerpts. Candidly, it becomes time consuming when the squiggly nonsense words + a real word appear on the N-a-R box. It's okay when it's just three or four numbers. I don't know why or when it alternates.

Chompstick: I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the way you have set up and modulated this site. It is so superior to other blogs and websites. Unlike just about every other TV show message board, there are no "trolls", or a handful of posters who go back and forth page after page calling each other names. Plus, the different topic sections on your site make it easy to shield spoilers, and prevent episode discussions from vetting off into irrelevant tangents.

Not trying to suck up. Just wanted to thank you for your ingenuity and your efforts.

Thank you Harry. It's always nice to receive positive feedback.

BSG arose because of a desire voiced by many to avoid those negative issues. I've always maintained that it's "our" site, not just mine, and I want everyone to take ownership of the personal and personable environment we've created. It's very rare that we have a new poster who behaves badly, for lack of a better word, because they see from reading the site that their attitude isn't going to fly.

The reason for the different topic pages is based on a suggestion that there needed to be a better way to be able to look back and refer to a previous post or topic without sifting through 500 comments about anything.

Oh, and I know you're not sucking up. If you wanted to do that you'd tell me how much you love Tom.

Erm, if I were to write a monster of an essay, trying to pinpoint the details of Red's family(ies) and what occurred in regards to the evening of "The Holey Christmas" (so aptly named by Honey West and Tabasko), the night of the fire, and the events leading to Naomi/Carla's protective custody--would one of the lovely moderators be so kind as to allow me to send it to their email, so they could post it? I promise to be as organized as possible--but I'm afraid being concise isn't always my strong point. :/ (I'm still limited to my posts mostly being successful only if I use my cellphone and not my computer; I'm taking a chance with today.) :) Thanks!

P.S. Said essay hasn't even been composed yet, as it's in the earliest of stages.

P.P.S. I cannot really say just how great everyone is here, and many many thanks to Chompstick for creating this fantastically wonderful place. ^-^

Hi deadskie!

Absolutely, I'd love to have such an essay! I might be able to use it as a full-feature blog post on the front page. We've had featured writers in the past, and during the break is the perfect time. I can't guarantee I would put it on the home page without reading it yet, but I'm sure I could put it somewhere.

I welcome contributions of this nature, on any Blacklist related subjects, from anyone inclined to write something.

deadskie and others - please send your work to

Now, get started writing!! (I love your "erm")

BTW - you chose the perfect place to post this comment.

P.S. - The Holey Christmas topic is my favorite thing to ponder. And thank you for your kind words.

Aww, thanks Chompstick! You're the best! :D The Holey Christmas deal is my favorite to hypothesize about too, because it's the most jumbled, yet detailed--and then we have a few facts but we don't--and well, it's a wonderful mess open for interpretation. ^-^

Deadskie - I cannot wait to read it! Carry on!!!

And I absolutely agree: Grand Thanks to Chompstick for such a lovely site with so many creative and handsome pages! We are really fortunate you've deigned to dedicate so much of your time and talent to make this happen, Chomps! Without you we'd be suffering our, um, er, Blacklist addiction, in silence and alone....
